Mosaic Knitting

Have you ever wanted to do beautiful 2 color knitting?

Were you worried about carrying 2 yarns at once, keeping your colors at the right tension, or jogless rows?  Worry no more!  Mosaic knitting is for you.  Mosaic knitting uses 2 colors, but only one color every 2 rows!  You can create beautiful 2 color designs and it is mostly garter stitch.  In this class you will learn to: read a mosaic chart, carry your yarns to make a decorative edge, and make a beautiful shawlette that will get raves every time you wear it!

Yarn used for Mosaic is DK weight. (250 yds in MC, 65 yds CC)

Mosaic class homework:  With DK main color yarn, cast on 211 stitches using the Knitted cast on, then purl 1 row.

Fiar Isle Knitting

Two Hands Two Colors- A Fair Isle Hat

If you tried Mosaic knitting you are ready for the next step, Stranded Knitting.  You can knit with more than one color at the same time.  In this class we will make the three color, chevron and diamond hat called Chev-Rhom Cap.  You will start with the main color, then work with 2 colors at a time.  Learn how to carry your yarns in each hand, attach new colors, and lock your floats when the float is more than 3 stitches.  You only need to know how to knit, purl, and knit in the round.

Yarn for Hat class was Quince & Co. Owl. (or other light worsted/worsted in 3 colors).

Intarsia Knitting

Picture Perfect Knitting- Intarsia

Now that you have mastered Mosaic and Stranded Knitting, you may want to try put a picture in your knitting.  We will start with a basic diamond shape motif scarf in just two colors. You will learn how to carry yarns, an easy method to twist the colors at the join, and the best way to untwist your yarns after a few rows.  Instructor will also show example of multiple color intarsia (Argyll) and tools to make knitting with multiple colors at once.

Yarn for Intarsia is Cestari worsted (looks kettle dyed). 2 hanks of MC, 1 in CC.

Intarsia class Homework:  On size 10 needles, with Main Color cast on 21 stitches and knit 4 rows.

Cost: 25.00 for each class Plus Materials
