Step up to the next level of weaving!  In this class you will learn how color and design can produce stunning woven results.  We will look at houndstooth, log cabin, clasped weft and plaid patterns.  You will also learn how to calculate the yardage needed to complete a project and finish the ends.  You can choose to weave one pattern or make samplers of all four.

Cost: 60.00 (plus $25.00 loom rental fee if needed)

Materials:  worsted weight yarns.  Shepherd’s Wool recommended

Weaving: Level 2 – Color and Design

Step up to the next level of weaving!  In this class you will learn how color and design can produce stunning woven results.  We will look at houndstooth, log cabin, clasped weft and plaid patterns.  You will also learn how to calculate the yardage needed to complete a project and finish the ends.  You can choose to weave one pattern or make samplers of all four.

Prerequisite:  level 1 weaving class or previous experience, knowledge of warping your loom, basic understanding of plain or balanced weave, understanding of basic terminology related to weaving

Materials:

  • 1 skein each of worsted (medium weight or #4) wool in two solid contrasting colors, Shephard’s Wool recommended
  • 1 skein worsted weight wool in complementary solid color for plaid pattern, Shephard’s Wool recommended
  • Loom and all tools needed for warping and weaving (bring your own loom or rent one – looms are available for rental for $25.00. The rental fee can be applied to the purchase of the loom)
  • Blunt end yarn/tapestry needle
  • Calculator
  • Notepad, pen or pencil

Class size limited to six students with a minimum of three students.
