Learn to knit with Kristy Glass is a fun filled, 2 part class designed to get you on your needles and finishing your first project.  Students will create a rolled brim hat and learn lots of fantastic tips, tricks and support.  No prior experience needed.  Learn a NEW craft with Kristy.

Session1 is a 2 hour class:  What is knitting?  Teach me about wool, test different yarns, learn the knit stitch and how to cast on.  Students should continue to work at home or come into the shop to continue their project as directed.

Session 2 is a 2 hour class where we will review different cast on techniques, learn about the different yarn weights and fibers and how they are used.  Students will also learn how to decrease for the top of their hat.  If time permits, students will learn about Ravelry.com, embellishing their work and other fun filled tips and tricks.

(total class time, 4 hours plus additional in store help)

Required Materials:  ALL yarns must be purchased from the Yarn Club (testing yarns will be provided by the shop and Kristy.)

1 skein Malabrigo Chunky and a size US11-16" needle

or

1 skein Malabrigo Worsted and a US 8-16" needle.

student may want to purchase a Knit How book and other tools along their knitting journey.

Please come into the shop 1-2 days prior to class to purchase your materials.  One of our cheerful staff will be happy to assist you.

 Kristy Glass has been a lifestyle knitter for 17 years!  She has traveled the world exploring sheep farms, yarn, and knitting culture.  She has a passion for color and trying new techniques.
